Nicholas Ransley – Tenor

Nick’s singing career has taken him all over the world and he’s also performed roles at The Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Opera North, Scottish Opera, English National Opera and Glyndebourne Festival Opera. He has performed around forty roles including Don José, Rodolfo, Don Ramiro and Cavaradossi. He appeared as Neil Armstrong in Jonathan Dove’s Man On The Moon for Channel 4 and starred as Mike in BBC Television’s award-winning Flashmob – The Opera. Nick has appeared regularly on Friday Night is Music Night on BBC Radio 2, In Tune on BBC Radio 3 and at Wembley also for the BBC. Nick has performed many of the major Oratorios at venues throughout the UK including The Royal Festival Hall, Birmingham Symphony Hall and The Barbican Hall. Works include Verdi Requiem, Handel Messiah and Elijah with Sir Willard White. He made his Italian debut at the Parco della Musica, Rome singing Britten’s Serenade for Tenor, Horn and Strings.
Engagements this season include The Officer in Ariadne auf Naxos at The Royal Opera House, Horace Adams in Peter Grimes for Teatro Lyrico di Galiari in Italy and concerts in San Diego, USA. Recent engagements include Danilo, The Merry Widow for Singapore Lyric Opera and his first engagement at the ROH covering the Earl of Leicester in Maria Stuarda.
