Dear Ivor

The Musical Memoirs Of Ivor Novello

A Fantastic Concert of the career and music of Ivor Novello

Ivor Novello remains one of Britain’s most influential and successful composers.

The programme includes: Keep The Home Fires Burning, We’ll Gather Lilacs, My Dearest Dear, Glamorous Night, Some Day My Heart Will Awake, A Violin Began To Play, Waltz Of My Heart, Why Is There Ever Goodbye, and not least of all the delightful And Her Mother Came Too.

In his dressing room, before curtain-up, Ivor Novello (Mark Langley) remembers a life in the theatre and recalls the elegance and charm of a bygone age. Dear Ivor captures the gossipy Ivor Novello of Gosford Park, but also the man who composed stylish and beautiful melodies.
Novello enjoyed huge popularity as a matinee idol, film star and playwright, but today we remember him as a composer. All the classic Novello songs feature in this funny, touching and truly amazing story, which is a treat that will delight Ivor’s fans and entrance anybody who loves great music.

This show is sometimes happy, sometimes sad, but always witty and filled with truly beautiful music
