A magical evening of champagne, waltzes, songs and polkas
Marilyn Hill Smith
(the Queen of operetta and Mother Abess in the Current recent tour of The Sound of Music)
Join Fritz the waiter in his little café in old Vienna as he recalls the great composers and celebrities he and his family have served over the generations. With the help of his guests, Fritz recalls the glories of Strauss, Lehar and Viennese Operetta all in his distinctly Viennese style.
Fritz introduces some of Johann Strauss’ great waltz and polka tunes like By the Beautiful Blue Danube and The Thunder and Lightning Polka as well as a little bit of his masterpiece Die Fledermaus. Highlights from the Merry Widow recall the genius of Franz Lehar, which – along with a wealth of operetta favourites – make for a truly wonderful night.
