Jeremy is from Barnsley in Yorkshire and spent his first eight years of professional life as a Colliery Stores Manager for the NCB. In 1985 he gained a scholarship to the Guildhall School of Music and Drama where he studied under Noelle Barker OBE. In 1988 he became a Founder member of the New D’Oyly Carte Opera Company, playing the roles of Jack Point Yeomen Of The Guard, Pirate King and The Major General Pirates Of Penzance, Koko The Mikado and principal baritone in the company’s ‘Gilbert And Sullivan A La Carte’ concerts. For Crystal Clear Opera the roles of Sacristan, Tosca, Yamadori and the Commissioner, Madame Butterfly, Antonio Marriage Of Figaro, Pish Tush The Mikado and Sir Joseph Porter HMS Pinafore at St David’s Hall Cardiff and for Central Festival Opera, Frosch Die Fledermaus.
For Scottish Chamber Orchestra Eacamillo, Carmen and a G & S Scottish Proms. Jeremy was in the international tour of Chess where he played Walter De Courcey. For London Savoyards all the Gilbert and Sullivan repertoire, at the Barbican Hall.
Jeremy is a full time member of Opera North his roles are Slade Love Life, recorded for Chandos and played Lopez La Duenna, the Registrar Madame Butterfly, Antonio Marriage Of Figaro, Ambrogio The Barber Of Seville, Sir Robert Cecil, Gloriana, Grigorio, The Thieving Magpie, Welko Arabella, Barone Duphol, La Traviata, Marullo, Rigoletto Taxi Black, Dr Rook One Touch Of Venus, Seargent Manon Lescaut, Ist Man, Sweeney Todd, Ist Villager Il Pagliacci, Benoit and Alcindoro La Boheme, created the roles and recorded for DVD, The Owl and the Bricklayer The Adventures of Pinocchio, Consul Pritschitsch The Merry Widow.
He appeared at Gawsworth Hall Festival as The Learned Judge Trial By Jury, Sir Joseph Porter HMS Pinafore and Major General Pirates Of Penzance. For Briggate Opera Trio, Trouble In Tahiti, Opera in Prisons project, Cox Cox & Box, Aristide Not In Front Of The Waiter
In his spare time Jeremy operates his own company Much Loved Productions Ltd providing one-night concerts around the country, now in its 19th year.
