Richard Madin
Principal Horn
After studying at the Royal Northern College of Music, Richard joined the family music business, whilst enjoying life as a freelance horn player, and has been involved with BPCO since 1998. Richard has played with various orchestras and opera companies throughout the country, and particularly enjoyed playing with the West End Theatre Orchestra in Cyprus for productions of Sound of Music, Oliver, Cats and Wizard of Oz.
Richard lives in Nottingham with his wife, Alison, principal flute with BPCO, whom he first met in the Derbyshire County Youth Orchestra in 1976! A confirmed Francophile, Richard may be spotted keeping his lip in, playing a hosepipe, amongst the vines, whilst holidaying in the South of France!
